Many of the prescriptions at the Laborers Clinics will be generic. This includes antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, blood pressure, and cholesterol prescriptions. Specialty, brand name, and narcotic pain medicines will not be available at your clinics.

The Laborers Clinics are a group of medical clinics owned by the Minnesota Laborers Health and Welfare fund. They provide healthcare services to all covered Fund participants and their dependents ages 18 months and older. Everything that’s done at the clinic is available at no out-of-pocket cost with no deductible to meet. Medications that are provided as part of an in-clinic visit are supplied at no cost. Vaccinations done at the clinics are available at no cost. These clinics were created just for our Fund participants and are not open to the general public, which makes it more convenient for scheduling and visits. And because your clinics are staffed with clinicians from HealthPartners, one of the most respected names in healthcare in the U.S., you can be sure of the quality of care you’ll receive. Just one more way that the Minnesota Laborers Health and Welfare Fund is looking out for you and your family.

Specialty and brand name drugs are not available through the Laborers Clinics. Prescriptions not offered at the clinics can be sent to your pharmacy. Standard prescription coverage including individual deductibles and 80/20 coverage on non-generics will apply to prescriptions filled outside of the Laborers Clinics.

The clinics are open every weekday (hours vary by location) and they have Saturday morning hours for your convenience. And of course, a phone or video consultation is also available for many of the services. All clinics are closed on Sunday.

No, you must be seen by one of the Laborers Clinics, Clinicians in order to receive a prescription from the Laborers Clinics.

Walk-in appointments are not available at this time.

Your clinics are staffed by physician assistants (PAs) or nurse practitioners (NPs).  They are certified to do many of the things a doctor can do. There’s also a board-certified doctor on staff who will rotate across the three locations.

No. The NPs and PA’s and all MDs are all employed by HealthPartners. This means your medical information is confidential. We all take your health privacy very seriously.

Appointments typically last about 20 minutes. If you need to talk about more than one concern, just ask for an extended visit when you call to schedule your appointment. This 40-minute visit will allow for more time to discuss your concerns.

Yes, you may make your request when you schedule your appointment over the phone, but understand that your appointment scheduling will be dependent on the clinician’s availability. You may be asked to see that clinician at any one of the three current clinic locations if that would be more convenient and timely for you.
