Common Warning Signs of Mental Health

Every mental health condition presents with its own distinct set of symptoms, although it is not uncommon for symptoms to intersect. Here are some commonly observed signs and symptoms that may indicate a mental health condition:
Feeling very sad or withdrawn for more than two weeks
Thoughts of suicide or self harm
Sudden overwhelming fear for no reason, sometimes with a racing heart, physical discomfort or difficulty breathing
Significant weight loss or gain
Excessive use of alcohol or drugs
Drastic changes in mood, behavior, personality or sleeping habits
